Shutdown/Restart a remote machine with remote desktop

This is quite tough to do when the remote machine is running Vista - so here's how I do it.

Open up a command prompt (type in cmd into the run box in xp or the search box in vista) and type the following

Restart: "Shutdown /r"
Shut Down: "Shutdown /s"

Enjoy

Ross:)

just press Alt+F4 on the desktop and it will open the options dialog, to restart/shutdown

Maikel that is very true (but only if you have the desktop highlighted!)

Good tip, thankyou:)
